A high-precision prefabricated component, SPS structural composite panels readily integrate with existing structure and can increase the commercial value of existing and new buildings by adding additional area. Our floor panels can extend your existing building — through extra upper floors, balconies, terraces or mezzanines — without the need to strengthen or modify the existing structural frame or foundations. SPS is a cost-effective, fast, durable, lightweight, slim and sustainable alternative to cast-in-place or precast reinforced concrete that can be used for a nearly endless list of building applications.

SPS increases live-load capacity despite being up to 75% lighter than reinforced concrete, typically just 27-60mm [1-2 ½in] thick. Manufactured offsite, SPS panels are easily installed using standard steel working practices, while delivering a high strength-to-weight ratio. SPS meets all the performance requirements for use in modern, high-quality buildings, concourses and car parks.

SPS Lightweight, modular design:

  • reduces transport movements and deliveries; 
  • simplifies logistics and eases congestion;

SPS can also be delivered as a fully-modular small building for certain Special Applications such as safe rooms and holding cells and brings added value through its inherent ability to resist rupture and maintain structural integrity in the event of a blast.

We meet international standards and performance requirements

SPS has over 26 years of research and development carried out in close cooperation with independent institutions and regulators. The International Code Council worked closely with SPS Technology to establish the current codes for structural composites.

Leading research institutions in North America, Europe and Asia have completed full-scale load and fatigue testing on SPS structures with approvals received. Today, SPS meets all the performance requirements for use in modern, high-quality buildings, concourses and car parks.

Applications

SPS is a simple structural element with known physical properties that can be designed with precision engineering for use in any configuration or orientation, in new or existing buildings. With a fire rating up to two hours, SPS panels do not crack, spall, separate or rupture and are environmentally sustainable.

The use of SPS in buildings results in lighter buildings that are simpler and safer to construct, and are built to more predictable schedules. SPS panels are isotropic and naturally stiff in all directions.  Architecturally versatile, standard design procedures are used to tailor the geometry and performance of SPS to each particular building and 3D and BIM modelling bring precision to the build.
